3D Imaging Services Helps Texas Law Firm In Settlement
It is difficult to adequately express my gratitude, and thankfulness for the professional service you rendered reconstructing Mrs. H’s accident. As we know, she was driving a westbound on Interstate Highway 20, inside the city limits of Sweetwater, Texas. Who would have ever believed that the trucker driving a tractor/trailer would have been so careless and thoughtless, exceeding the speed limit, using tires worn to the point they were slick, in the rain, allowed his truck to hydroplane, jackknife, cross the median into the oncoming path of Mrs. H, causing her death.
As we knew from the beginning, this was a fiercely contested case. The defendants pled three defenses, 1.Unavoidable accident, 2.The existence of a phantom vehicle, and 3.That this accident was caused by an act of god due to the rain. Any of which could have rendered a defendants verdict.
It was necessary, if not crucial in this case, to show the jury exactly how the vehicle and the trailer came together in the crash. The use of 3D laser scanning allowed a 100% accurate depiction of the objects. It then gave you the ability to determine almost to an exact scientific principle the Delta V of the vehicle and the trailer. This of course is a more accurate determination of speed before and during impact.
3D laser scanning, allowed us to base our opinions upon measurements taken at the scene of the accident, the placement of the vehicles following the accident, and the weather. The use of the scanner allowed us to fully recreate what happened before and during the accident. The crush factor of the vehicle as scanned, told the entire story. It would have allowed us to paint a picture for the jury to a great degree of certainty, showing exactly what Mrs. H saw before she died in this horrible accident from a number of different vantage points. Without the use of 3D Imaging Services, we would not been able to incorporate the scanned essentials into an animation making it so powerful allowing settlement before trial.
Surely in cases involving such serious consequences this tool from either a Plaintiff’s or Defendants perspective must always be evaluated and considered.
I look forward to working with you again.
Very truly yours,
